Senor Lopez
History of " Señor Lopez Baja"
Using recycled tee shirt scraps as a base for our cotton is a NEW recycling process which we started working on in 09'. It allows Señor Lopez to make a soft to the touch, brightly colored striped pullover that keeps it's roots to the funky feel of Mexico and puts it into the 21st century.

Señor Lopez is not some "bozo importer", he is a designer who collaborates with other design artists in order to bring you the best Mexican recycled "Tee Shirt Hoodie Baja" in the market. His styling, stripings, and fabric are the best you will find in anywhere in the world. There is a reason he has sold over 2 million baja pullovers since he started making them. Señor Lopez worked on fit to get it perfect with one of the top up and coming designers in the U.S., Darin Unke of “Kane and Unke”. All our recycled tee yarns are bought hand selected before weaving by Señor Lopez in Mexico.

All our fabric is washed and softened (remember it's recycled.) and is preshrunk so our fit doesn't change. Our stripe combinations are the bomb ( because we use the best and most expensive recycled tee yarns available) recycled_teesand we change them up all the time so we stay fresh. Señor Lopez also produces fabric on older weaving machines that create way more texture than newer faster machines. Because of all these steps we put into the process of making the “Perfect Baja” we are limited in what we can produce. You will only find the “Original Señor Lopez Baja” at the best surf shops and retailers. Have fun surfing our site and shopping and be assured that you are buying the best “Baja Pullover” available anywhere in the world.

In the 70's Senor left Santa Barbara Ca. solo with $60 in pocket to travel throughout mexico in search of a huge perfect wave where no one would be, the perfect margarita no gringo had ever tasted, and the perfect taco that would make your body shudder. He disappeared for six months and when he came back he had found all three. He also brought back this funky pullover he'd found near Puerto Escondido he was calling the “baja pullover” and the “Señor Lopez Baja” was born. As a surfer he was crazy travelling alone in the small “Bandito” coastal villages of Guerrero to find the uncrowded perfect wave. This obsession was carried over into his search for finding the way to make the “Perfect Baja”. In Mexico he soon became known by the locals as Senor “Loco”. He was in factories making owners changing the way they made their fabric so he could make the best recycled fabric possible to put in his pullovers to sell to the surf shops. He drove the fabric engineers at these factories crazy! You see, he believed if he could fight to make the best recycled Baja Pullover on the planet like he fought to find the perfect wave he would eventually score. As a result he did and so do you.
Remember! If it doesn't say “Señor Lopez” it's not a Baja!!!!
